In Blue Hill, in the center of the town, is the Blue Hill Public Library.
The library is located on Parker Point Road, near the intersection with Main Street, on the south side corner. The driveway is on Parker Point Road.
The library is a brick structure with white Greek pilasters and other decorations. The entrance is on the south side.
The beginnings of the library in town started in a corner of a grocery store in 1796. Later a ladies social group held a library.
By 1895, the library was in two rooms of the town hall. The original portion of the library was open in 1940. In 2001, the building was expanded twice its original size.
