Ysbyty Treforys is the Welsh name for Morriston Hospital - One of four major hospitals, in the Abertawe Bro Morgannwg University Local Health Board. The board serves a population of about half a million people.
The hospital is continually being upgraded & improved since it first opened, some of its buildings date from 1941.
" Abertawe Bro Morgannwg University Health Board was formed on 1st October 2009 as a result of a reorganisation within the NHS in Wales and consists of the former Local Health Boards (LHBs) for Swansea, Neath Port Talbot and Bridgend and also the Abertawe Bro Morgannwg University NHS Trust. The Health Board covers a population of approximately 500,000 people and has a budget of £1.3 billion.
