Alma is a small fishing village with a population of about 250 residents. Alma claim to fame is that they are the home of the World's highest tides: The Bay of Fundy.
United Cemetery was established in 1843 and is located in Albert County with approximately 730 interments. The cemetery is approximately an acre in size.
There are two stone pillars with an arch supporting the sign. The sign is looking a little rusty which has United Cemetery with the date 1843 above the name also there is a dove and Alma on the sign. This is the main roadway that leads into the cemetery. The cemetery is surrounded by a chain link fence.
The first known burials was the wife of John McLaughlin born about 1810 and died June 4, 1843 at the aged 33 years also interred with John and his wife is their young daughter Charlotte who died June 30, 1859 aged 3 years of age.
