Jim and Lorna Ross opened this year-round shop in 2007, serving real Wisconsin soft serve ice cream, (cones, treats and sundaes) and luncheon menu items (eat-in or take-out) to locals, travelers and train crews on the nearby BNSF tracks.
The name of the shop refers to a memory many of us share, of placing coins on a railroad track and recovering them after a passing train has flattened them. The shop maintains former Soo Line caboose #27 as a seating area, tourist info kiosk, and railroad museum piece. And, of course, they have a penny smasher in the shop (click on 'nearest waymarks'). We enjoyed our visit!
