One of the most mysterious and famous sites in the entire world, people of all ages come to see the UNESCO-listed Stonehenge site. In 2013, a new Visitor Centre, under construction for many years, has finally opened, with a large gift shop, an interpretive museum, and (thankfully) plenty of restrooms.

"The new Stonehenge Visitor Centre
Opened in December 2013, the new visitor centre houses permanent and temporary exhibitions, including nearly 300 archaeological treasures found buried at the site – from jewellery to pottery to human remains – as well as a gallery, a gift shop and a 110-seater counter service café that serves hot and cold food using locally-sourced produce. There's inside and outside seating where you can enjoy lovely views to the west, or take food away for your onward journey.
The environmentally-sensitive centre is located 1.5 miles from the stones. A shuttle service runs from the visitor centre to the stone circle, stopping off halfway to allow visitors the opportunity to walk the remaining stretch if you wish.
For more information about the new visitor centre, including the full range of facilities, events and competitions, see the Stonehenge section on the website of English Heritage."
