The church is located in
Rigoli near
Pisa on the road to
Lucca.
Attested from the 11th century, the church has a basilican plan divided by pillars with three apses.
The features of 11th-century architecture are evident in the central portion of the apse, where the blind arches rest on corbels. The interior and the facade are probably slightly more recent, perhaps from the 12th century.
A remnant of the early medieval building is the 12th-century baptismal basin, attributed to Biduino's workshop.
The interior preserves a valuable painting representing the Madonna Enthroned with Angels, signed by Turino Vanni, a Pisan painter who lived between the 14th and 15th century.
