Across from the Sevier County Courthouse at 315 W. Stillwell, this mural is painted on a brick wall on the west side of the DeQueen/Sevier County Chamber of Commerce. The mural is unsigned, and faces a car wash parking area.
On the left side of the mural are wooden seals from five Indian Nations: Choctaw, Cherokee, Chickasaw, Muscogee and Seminole. The painted scene shows a still river, with various people engaged in normal everyday activities. There are two riders whose horses are drinking the water. There are two children sitting on a large rock on the bank. Indian women are walking along nearby, a couple with small babies in their arms. A soldier on horseback is there, as well as a woman washing clothes in the river. With the sun shining brightly on the river, it is depicted as white, and the reflections of many of the people are shown in the water.
This is a beautiful, peaceful and quiet scene, but there is no title or artist name shown.
