Texas State Historic Site Atlas
This 1 1/2-Story center-passage house is believed to have been originally constructed in the late 1870s for Judge R.L. Waddill. Sanborn maps show that it originally faced east onto Church St., but was reoriented on same lot between 1902 & 1908 to face south onto Lamar St. Sanborn maps also show that the house was remodeled between 1914 and 1920.
Waddill was among McKinney's earliest leaders and was involved with early education efforts in the city. The house is still owned by his descendants.
