The East Grinstead town clock is positioned on London Road where it meets Railway Approach. The clock was initially purchased by public subscription in 1890 and was erected on a building to honour the 80th birthday of Thomas Cramp, an influential local man and teetotal pioneer.
When the building that the clock was mounted on was demolished, a purpose built tower was constructed in 1955, where it still stands today.
The tower was restored by the Town Council in 2000, and then again in 2012.
