Red Deer Cemetery is one of two cemeteries in Red Deer this one being the largest with approximately 8,000 known interments.
It is interesting to note that most of the sections are surrounded by huge evergreen trees as well as most of the perimeter. This cemetery is maintained by the City of Red Deer and is beautifully maintained. There are newer headstones mixed among the older ones.
There is a Veteran's section with a memorial dedicated to the Members of the British Commonwealth Air Training Plan #36 SFTS RAF Penhold who were killed while on active service 1941 to 1944.
