This red brick Greek Revival home was built by John Hoffman in 1859. The house takes it name from Henry T. Mudd, who purchased the house and 100 acres in 1866. Mudd served in the state legislature and was instrumental in framing of the Missouri Constitution of 1875. He also served as a curator of the University of Missouri and president of the state horticultural society. 1955. In 1992, it became the museum home of the Kirkwood Historical Society. The museum is open Thursdays and Sundays 1-4, admission is $2.00.
