He was cremated in the now defunct Odd Fellows Cemetery, San Francisco, CA and his ashes were buried in Brooklyn, NY where they were interred on September 21, 1903. Citation: Capture of flag of 25th Battalion Virginia Infantry (C.S.A.); was taken prisoner, but successfully retained his trophy until recaptured.
