The Roque Nublo (span. "cloud rock") is a mountain on the Canary Island Gran Canaria (Spain). Its summit of the same name, a striking basalt rock, reaches 1813 msnm and is one of the highest peaks in Gran Canaria. It is regarded as the landmark of the island.
The Roque Nublo cliff rises about 65 metres above its surroundings, a relatively flat summit level.
The German engineers Ranschert, Langenbacher and Wolffschmitt succeeded in the first ascent of the rock on 20 June 1932 via the route Alemana (V+ A0) in the southeast. They had come to Gran Canaria to work on the expansion of the port of Las Palmas. Today, the most difficult route, Vía del Alemán (German Way, 7b+), through the southeast flank is named after them.
