The outdoor, six-lane, Olympic-sized (50 metre) is popular with the active Merriwa locals, and especially the schools. There is one moderately large shade-sail area. It was Opened on 30th November 1968. [It is built on the site of the 'Old Roman Catholic Cemetery', used between 1857 and 1908.]

Monday to Friday it is generally open at two times of the day, from 5.30am - 8am, and from 3pm - 6pm. On Wednesday there is an additional opening time of 9am - 11am.
