As the name implies, Mineral Wells Park was an important source of water for early settlers in Guthrie, Oklahoma. This historic park was also the site of the first statehood celebration (at which time Guthrie was named the state capitol) and was also where the first "Bedlam" football game between Oklahoma University and Oklahoma State University was played. This old spring house has fallen into disrepair - one side wall is gone and the roof has collapsed - but the well head still bubbles. Of course I had to have a drink - the water is as cold and sweet as any!
