Ved udbygningen af havnen i 1872, blev ferskvandskilden i havnebassinet opdaget. Den blev dengang omgivet af en træramme, så de anløbne skibe´s mandskab kunne forsyne sig med ferskvand., der dog godt kunne være lidt brakt. Trærammen om kilden er senere udskiftet med en af sten.

At the expansion of the harbor in 1872, the freshwater source in the harbor basin was discovered. It was then surrounded by a wooden frame, so that the crew's ships' crew could supply themselves with fresh water, which, however, could well be a little brought. The wooden frame on the source has subsequently been replaced by one of the stones.
