Astronomical Observation in Tirschenreuth

The history
In 1964, the astronomical observatory Tirschenreuth was founded by a group of astronomy enthusiasts around Gerhard Franz. With the help of many donations and the help of local companies, a handsome dome observatory was finally created.

Since then, the observatory has also developed as a tourist magnet that spend their holidays here in the beautiful Upper Palatinate Forest and take the opportunity to get to know practical astronomy!

Enjoy your visit here!
