"The 'Monument for Allied Soldiers' in Delden is a column of black granite on which the flags of Great Britain and Canada are depicted. The Canadian flag is the old design that was still used during the Second World War. Below is a text in Dutch and English.
The English text on the plaque reads:
'IN HONOUR TO THE BRITISH AND CANADIAN TROOPS
WHO FOUGHT A FIERCE BATTLE IN THE AREA
APRIL 3RD 1945 WE SHALL NEVER FORGET. "
The Dutch text on the plaque reads:
'TER ERE VAN DE BRITSE EN CANADESE EENHEDEN
DIE ALHIER EEN ZWARE STRIJD HEBBEN GELEVERD
3 APRIL 1945 OPDAT WIJ ZE NOOIT ZULLEN VERGETEN.'
