The House of Sweden is part of the House of Pacific Relations International Cottages, a complex of cottages built for the 1935 California Pacific International Exposition. The complex currently house 33 groups that "promote multicultural goodwill and understanding through educational and cultural programs".

In 1996 an ambitious “Viking Vision” campaign was initiated to fund the architectural and interior remodeling the House of Sweden. The house is spacious, beautiful and charming, decorated in the Carl Larsson tradition of true Swedish design

The House of Sweden is open to the public Saturdays and Sundays Sundays from 12 to 4 PM.
