This draw well, now secured with the great appears as it did in the 1820s, when the Hermitage Mansion was built by Gen. Andrew Jackson at his Tennessee cotton plantation. Today, the well is secured by a welded iron great so that the thousands of tourists that visit the Hermitage every year don't fall in.
The draw well is located immediately behind The Hermitage, on the north side of the mansion.
