A life size bronze sculpture of Saint Jean-Baptiste Marie Vianney stands on a 5' high polished red granite base. The patron saint of priests is depicted wearing clerical robe, collar and vestments. He is holding a rosary in his folded hands.
A bronze plaque on the base is inscribed:

Jean-Baptiste Marie Vianney was born at Dardilly, France on May 8, 1786. He had his studies interrupted when he was conscripted by Napoleon into the French Army. However his family sent his younger brother to serve in his stead and he resumed his studies. He was ordained a priest on August 13, 1815. In 1818 he was assigned the parish priest of Ars (Curé d'Ars) where he remained for 41 years until he died.
His mission as a parish priest was to help people regain a faith after the French Revolution. Due to his dedication, he attracted a large international following.
On October 3, 1874 Pope Pius IX proclaimed him venerable, on January 8, 1905 Pope Pius X declared him Blessed. He was canonized in 1925 by Pope Pius XI. In 1929 he was declared the Patron Saint of Priests by Pope Pius XI. His feast day is His feast day is celebrated on August 4th.
