This Parlor is a very special building with a large roof and ivy/flowers on it. We tried the Sorbet ijs and it was great. The service was quick and very friendly.

"Vanaf 21 juli 2014 mogen wij met trots zeggen dat onze Italiaanse ijssalon Il Cappellino is geopend.
Wij, Mike en Jess, zijn sinds 2004 de eigenaren van De Lunchclub in Arnhem (het ‘stroopwafelzaakje’ aan de Jansstraat).
Wij zijn grote ijsliefhebbers en daarom bedreven in het herkennen van kwaliteit. Toen het bijzondere gebouw tegenover De Lunchclub vrij kwam te staan, was het voor ons een perfect moment om dit nieuwe avontuur aan te gaan.
We hebben gekozen voor ambachtelijk gemaakt Italiaans schepijs. Gemaakt door een Italiaanse familie die de kunst van het ijs bereiden al 3 generaties in de vingers heeft en blijft streven naar perfectie. Aan de ijsbereiding komt nog veel handwerk te pas en de grondstoffen worden zorgvuldig geselecteerd. Aan de kwaliteit van het eindproduct worden geen concessies gedaan. Hierbij is de Italiaanse trots volop aanwezig.
Bij ons ziet u het ijs niet in open bakken in de vitrine liggen. Wij werken met een pozzetti systeem. Pozzetti is het meervoud van pozzette, Italiaans voor 'putje'. Dit systeem werd van oudsher in Italië gebruikt en maakt nu weer zijn opmars. Voorheen werd het ijs in een bad met ijs en pekel gehangen. Tegenwoordig is dit een bad met glycol. De glycol zorgt voor een constante koeling van het ijs. Doordat de cilindervormige bakken worden afgesloten met een deksel blijft de temperatuur constant en komt er minder licht en lucht bij het ijs.
Dit zorgt ervoor dat de kwaliteit van het ijs stabiel blijft. Daarnaast is dit een hygiënische manier van werken."

We, Mike and Jess, are since 2004 the owners of the Lunchclub in Arnhem (the 'stroopwafelzaakje' on the Jansstraat).
We are great ice lovers and therefore adept at recognizing quality. When the special building opposite the Lunchclub became available, it was a perfect time for us to embark on this new adventure.
We opted for Italian scoop ice cream made according to traditional methods. Made by an Italian family that has mastered the art of ice cream making for 3 generations and continues to strive for perfection. There is still a lot of manual work involved in ice making and the raw materials are carefully selected. No concessions are made to the quality of the end product. The Italian pride is fully present.
With us, you won't see the ice cream in open containers in the display case. We work with a pozzetti system. Pozzetti is the plural of pozzette, Italian for 'well'. This system was traditionally used in Italy and is now making its mark again. Previously, the ice was hung in a bath with ice and brine. Nowadays this is a bath with glycol. The glycol provides a constant cooling of the ice. Because the cylindrical bins are closed with a lid, the temperature remains constant and less light and air reaches the ice.
This ensures that the quality of the ice remains stable. This is also a hygienic way of working.
