Op het Pastoor Vullinghsplein staat een oorlogsmonument dat de vele slachtoffers van WOII herdenkt.
Onder de slachtoffers is onder andere Pastoor Vullinghs, waarnaar het plein ook vernoemd is. Hij was onder de Grubbenvorstenaren een grote verzetsstrijder. Na de Duitse overwinning op Nederland in mei 1940 zei Vullinghs vanaf de preekstoel: "Onze soldaten kunnen niets meer doen. Nu is het de beurt aan ons. Wij zullen de Duitsers dwarszitten waar wij kunnen." Dit was het begin van zijn verzetsactiviteiten die leidden tot de hulp aan vele Joodse onderduikers, krijgsgevangenen en geallieerde piloten, waarbij hij veel hulp kreeg van de inwoners van Grubbenvorst.
Ook wordt op de zuil melding gemaakt van 7 Britse piloten die met een bommenwerper neerstortten in de kern van Grubbenvorst. Een groot deel van het dorp werd door de explosie weggevaagd. Alle piloten verloren het leven.

On the Pastoor Vullinghsplein is a war memorial that commemorates the many victims of WWII.
Among the victims is Pastoor Vullinghs, for which the square is also named. He was a great resistance fighter among the Grubben princes. After the German victory over the Netherlands in May 1940, Vullinghs said from the pulpit: "Our soldiers cannot do anything anymore. Now it is our turn. We will be bothering the Germans where we can." This was the beginning of his resistance activities that led to the help of many Jewish people in hiding, prisoners of war and allied pilots, where he received a lot of help from the inhabitants of Grubbenvorst.
The column also mentions 7 British pilots who crashed with a bomber into the core of Grubbenvorst. A large part of the village was swept away by the explosion. All pilots lost their lives.
