The pair of millstones have certainly not been used for a while, by the lichen that is growing on them. Initially I thought that they were of sandstone origin, but the grooved discs are more likely to be made of granite. They probably aren't too likely to be 'nicked' (stolen), because to the south, on the other side of the divided road/highway is the Post Office, and the Police Station.
A postcard from yester-year (1936) showing the sundial and millstones also has the Timeline inscription on the back of it, which states that the millstones were imported in 1840.
