This memorial to those who fought and died in World War I was erected in 1930 by the Canadian Legion.

The monument was erected by Post 151. There must have been some renumbering/naming of Posts/Branches because 151 is now located in Sydney, Nova Scotia. The local Branch is 379 out of nearby Port Rowan.

It's a stylish monument on St. Williams' main corner. The copper alloy plaque is centred on a 3 metre high monument of mortared granite. There is some cracking in the mortar and you have to get real close to the plaque to read it, but for the most part, it has stood the test of time.
