Carl Daniel Freydanck was a German artist employed by the Royal Porcelain Factory in the German capital Berlin.
Freydanck created oil paintings of almost all the castles of the Prussian Hohenzollern dynasty. Later, his paintings were used as templates for painting porcelain cups and plates. Some of this porcelain artwork was done by Freydanck personally (picture right, larger picture here.
Freydanck displayed his oil paintings only once (in 1846). Throughout his lifetime, he was virtually unknown as a painter. His artistry became known only in 1983 (almost 100 years after his death), when the Prussian Palaces and Gardens Foundation started displaying some of his 250 oil paintings.
