The structure that was built in 1923 was part of the Yankee Pedlar Inn and Banquet Facility at the corner of Northanpton Street and Beech Street in Holyoke, MA. When the Inn closed the site was purchased by PeoplesBank for the construction of a new bank building. As part of the demolition agreement the PeoplesBank offered the house next to it to anyone who agreed to move it.

OneHolyoke CDC, a private non-profit housing provider, offered to move the structure to a now vacant lot it purchased at 278 Pine Street. The building will be converted into a two-family home at the cost of $345,000. On June 24, 2018 the structure was jacked up, placed on a flatbed trailer, and moved the 1.5 miles to its new location.
