This steeple is not the highest, but common among Baptist churches. Topped with a plain cross and in gleaming whit. The louvered base section implies a bell tower, but in this case I could not confirm a bell actually exists, or ever did, for that matter.
The attempt at a Gothic Revival looking window in the steeple, missed --the window looks more in line with Colonial.. The spire itself is octagonal in structure.
As for church history, I could find nothing on the internet.
