Next to the Nundle Public Swimming Pool is the Memorial for the Lutana DC3 that crashed on a flight from Townsville-Brisbane and to Sydney on 2nd September 1948. The three bladed propeller is mounted in a small red-brown local boulder, with a bronze plaque to the front. It reads:

ANA DC3 "Lutana" VH-ANK
Crashed into "Square Peak " Nundle
2nd September, 1948.
All aboard perished
