The 12th century episcopal throne in the apse is in gray-striped cipollino marble from the island of Euboea, Greece, and has two griffins as armrests. It is placed on a multicolored pavonazzetto marble block from present-day Turkey and carries a Cosmatesque work on the ground.

The ceremonial seat is flanked by the wooden stalls of the priests of the college attached to the church, which were provided during the restoration of the nineteenth century.

The basilica is open daily from 07:30 to 12.00 and 16:00 to 21:00.
