Allexis Potter is a first-degree black belt certified in Shou Shu's bear style and the head teacher at Moore's Shou Shu Martial Arts. Shou Shu, which Potter said is a Chinese style of self-defense that roughly translates to "fighting way of the beast."
Shou Shu students learn the strengths and weaknesses of various animals that have inspired the style's movements. Students learn to combine movements of the different animals to defend themselves.
