[EN] "The Tuxerjochhaus was built between 1910 and 1911 by my great-grandfather Franz Hotter, master carpenter and innkeeper in Hochsteg.

He built the Spannaglhaus for the ÖTK and found the place at the Tuxerjoch for a hut for himself. After the 1st World War he sold the hut to the ÖTK because he couldn't finance it anymore. However, he was able to negotiate a lease for himself and his descendants.

As a result his son Johann Hotter and later his son Franz Hotter sen. took over the hut. In 1987 the hut was renovated and extended. Sanitary facilities and toilets with flushing were built and the hut was also connected to the public sewer system. With a shower, the Tuxerjoch House was one of the most modern huts in Austria at the time. 2012 I took over Franz Hotter jun. the hut now in 4th generation.

Our equipment:
Roofed 180 degrees winter garden with sliding roof and sliding doors (always outside and always correctly tempered)
Spacious sanitary area with running water
Shower facilities (for a fee)

Accommodation:
1 x 14er camp
1 x 12 bearing
1 x 6er room
1 x 3 person room
A total of 35 sleeping places.

Hut rules
Water and any other form of energy are very scarce in the mountains. Please act accordingly and try to save as much energy as possible.
The use of a hut sleeping bag should be a matter of course for everyone. The blankets are not constantly washed (=keyword energy saving).
Smoking is forbidden in the whole hut.
Payment is only possible in cash. Please take enough cash with you.
The upper floors may only be entered with slippers.
Dogs are welcome in our house, but they are not allowed in the bedrooms. This means that a dog has to sleep in the guest room.

Important
A headlamp provides valuable services, especially in the warehouse.
Earplugs or Ohropax are good for noisy "snoozers
Free sockets are usually very rare, so consider that it may not be possible to charge your empty batteries."
