From 1983 through 2016, the nearby bus station on the Transitway was known as LeBreton (Lebreton). When the Ottawa light-rail system Confederation Line opened, the rail station was named Pimisi. In the Algonquin language, this is the word for eel.

The immediate surroundings in LeBreton Flats will soon be a centre for arts and culture. There is already plenty of art to appreciate at Pimisi station. Check the nearby waymarks.
