The uOttawa station is part of the recently opened Confederation Line light rail transit system in Ottawa. This station serves passengers who visit the University of Ottawa. The station replaces the Campus station of the bus rapid transit Transitway which was opened in the 1980s.

uOttawa station has one ground-level entrance facing the University of Ottawa campus. There is another station entrance in the tunnel which connects the campus with the Rideau Canal and the Corktown Footbridge to the city centre.
