Roadside Architecture

"This former Gulf station was built in 1928. It was later a Humble Oil station and beginning in the mid-1950s, it housed a Phillips 66 station. In later years, it was a Texaco station and dressed up to reflect that use. The two fins on top of the canopy would have been installed further in from the sides. The details would have been green rather than red if this had been a Texaco station. The stars on the building would have been painted red. In 2006, the building was restored as a Wachovia Bank branch. It now houses a Wells Fargo branch."

Ridged surfaces on either side of the door are typical feature of Art Deco stations. Also has colored bands below roofline.
