Around Hillegom - The Netherlands - Canoe/Kayak Trips on Waymarking.com

Een ronde van 13,5 km. met een overdraging.
Deze tocht kan alleen tussen begin april en half september worden gemaakt. Buiten deze periode wordt niet ver van het startpunt een schot in het water geplaatst en overdragen is daar niet mogelijk. Deze route is onderdeel van de met borden gemarkeerde Bollenroute (35 km).

Startpunt is in Hillegom bij het sportpark De Zanderij aan de Van Den Endelaan.
Naar het startpunt: Neem de N208 Haarlem - Lisse. In het centrum van Hillegom ga je de zijstraat in westelijke richting in vlakbij het Esso tankstation. Dit is de Van den Endelaan. Deze weg komt uit op een parkeerterrein. Het startpunt is recht voor je achter het grote informatiebord.
Vanaf de kanosteiger ga je naar recht. Volg de bochten naar links en neem de tweede zijvaart rechtsaf. Na een kort stukje kom je bij het enige overdraagpunt op deze route. Een houten damwand blokkeert de doorvaart. Er is echter een goede kanosteiger gemaakt zodat overdragen geen probleem is. Vervolg de route naar links onder de brug door. Bij de T-kruising ga je rechtsaf, en even verder ga je weer linksaf. Vervolgens ga de bij dan volgende kruising rechtsaf. Dit is de Oosteindervaart en die vaar je helemaal af naar de Ringvaart Haarlemmermeer. Je gaat linksaf de ringvaart op. Dit is breed vaarwater, waar ook grotere boten voorbij komen. Bij Bennebroek is een brug. Volgens het bord gaat de Bollenroute hier rechtuit. Deze verkorte route gaat echter vlak achter de brug linksaf de smalle vaart op. Voorbij de aanlegplaats is deze alleen voor ongemotoriseerde vaartuigen toegankelijk. Je vaart door Bennebroek en je komt langs de speeltuin Linnaeushof. Aan het eind kom je op de Leidse Vaart uit. Hier ga je linksaf. Voorbij het spoorwegstation Vogelenzang is na de bocht naar links een lang recht stuk naar De Zilk. Hier ga je onder de brug door en dan na 200 meter linksaf de Hillegommerbeek op. Bij de spoorbaan volg je de bocht naar links en vervolgens naar rechts onder de brug door. Vaar langs de huizen tot aan het eind bij de T-kruising. Daar ga je linksaf. Een klein stukje verder ben je terug bij het startpunt.

A round trip of 13.5 km marked with signs "Bollenroute". One portage.
This trip can only be made during the summer months (beginning of April until half September) because a barrier is placed in the water for better regulations of the water-levels, and portage is impossible.

Starting point in Hillegom at the sport park De Zanderij at the Van Den Endelaan.
To the starting point: Take the N208 Haarlem - Lisse. In the center of Hillegom there is a side-road to the west near de Esso fuel station. This is the Van den Endelaan. At the end of the street is a parking place. The kayak pier is straight ahead behind the information sign
From the starting point you go to the right. Follow the bends to the left and take the second canal to the right. After a short distance you come at the only portage point on theis route. There is a good kayak pier. Continue left under the bridge. At the T-junction you turn right and then you turn left. At the next junction you turn right. This is the Oosteindervaart. At the end you come at the Ringvaart Haarlemmermeer. This is a wide canal and there may be motor boats passing. You turn left. At Bennebroek you come at a bridge. The sign "Bollenroute" indicates to go straight on, but this is for the 35 km version. You turn left just behid the bridge. This is a narrow canal closed for motor boats. You pass through Bennebroek and on you right you see the playground Linnaeushof. At the end of the canal you turn left at the T-junction. This is the Leidse Trekvaart. Follow the canal passed Vogelenzang. You go under a railroad bridge and after the bend to the left there is a long straight stretch towards De Zilk. About 200 meters after the bridge you turn left on the Hillegommerbeek. At the railroad the canal bend to the left and the you turn right under the railroad bridge. At the next T-junction you turn left and after a short distance you return at the starting point.
