The Historical plaque is on the front of a sandstone stele, almost at the end of the metal guardrail, opposite the entrance to the Taree golf course. Above it is a plaque for the opening of the current Kolodong Rail Overbridge in 1993. The Historic plaque is shown below, and reads:

"THE TIN BRIDGE"
1913 - 1993
The former structure on this site was known as
"The Tin Bridge". The bridge was of timber
construction and so known because the railings
were clad with galvanised flat iron.

The Dungog/Taree rail link was completed in
February, 1913 and "The Tin Bridge" was built to
provide for vehicles using this important road
connection between Taree and Wingham.
Greater Taree City Council November 1993

Behind this stele is a rather 'unloved' Geocaching Australia geocache, placed 10+ years ago, and still hiding away, so be VERY careful if you go behind it! GA4269 Ozzie! Ollie! Ollie! Oye! Oye! Oye!
