The charcoal coloured, polished marble tablet on the sandstone headstone has 'silver-filled' etched inscription. This sits at the western end of the multi-coloured tile inset, concrete covered grave, in the rural Tinonee Cemetery. It is immediately south of the very similar looking grave of James Arthur Mulry - presumably John's father.

There is an oval cameo photo of John centred on the top line of the following inscription.
