The North end of the structure serves as an outdoor classroom and is made of wood trim work with a peaked roof. The roof is metal.
Dr. Mary S. Kitchel in 2002 donated a major portion of the funds to build the classroom and bathroom facilities. With additional privated contributions and funds from the Grand Haven Area Community Foundation the outdoor classroom was completed after her death and was dedicated on September 22, 2002.
