EN: The funicular between Sierre and Crans-Montana was opened in 1911. The valley station is in the center of Sierre, about 250 meters from the train station.
The line originally consisted of two separate lines, each about 2000 meters long, with a transfer station in the middle.
In 1997 the two lines were merged. This reduced the travel time from 30 to twelve minutes. At the same time, it became the longest funicular in Europe with a length of 4192 meters.
The line overcomes a height difference of 931 meters. There is space for 50 people in each of the two cars.

Ursprünglich bestand die Linie aus zwei getrennten Bahnen von je ca. 2000 Metern Länge mit einer Umsteigestation in der Mitte.
1997 wurden die beiden Linien vereint. Damit verkürzte sich die Fahrzeit von 30 auf zwölf Minuten. Gleichzeitig entstand auch die längste Standseilbahn Europas mit einer Länge von 4192 Metern.
Die Linie überwindet eine Höhendifferenz von 931 Metern. In den beiden Wagen haben je 50 Personen Platz.
