Green Heart - The University of Birmingham - Edgbaston, Birmingham, U.K. - Outdoor Amphitheaters on Waymarking.com

This outdoor amphitheatre can be found in the Green Heart at the centre of the Edgbaston campus of the University of Birmingham amd is close to the university’s North Gate.

The Edgbaston campus site rises quite markedly from Bourn Brooke and the South Gate on Bristol Road. Most of the Green Heart is reasonably flat and has been designed to provide for disabled access from the North Gate to the Aston Webb building and the crescent of the original campus buildings including the Great Hall. The grass amphitheatre in the Green Heart uses this naturally rising ground in a series of wide grass steps up to the level of the North Gate.

The paved area to the south of the steps is designed to provide a stage for live outdoor performances which may be observed from the grass steps of the amphitheatre such as the Green Heart festival which took plave over the weekend of the 7th June 2019. (visit link)
