Oliver is the Wine Capital of Canada!
Oliver is a small town about 25 km north of the Canada and US borders right in the middle of the Okanagan Valley.
Oliver is primarily an agricultural community with an abundance of apple, cherry, peach and apricot orchards. Vineyards highlight the area as wineries offer tasting rooms to sample their exquisite wines. There are over 40 wineries in the surrounding area.
Just one block from the hotel is the Oliver Visitor Centre and is home in a relocated 1923 railway station that served the Canadian Pacific Railway (CPR) and a branch line of the Kettle Valley Railway, to transport fruits and vegetables to Vancouver.
There is also walking paths and a pedestrian bridge. Next to the visitor center is a nice park with exercise equipment, tables and benches, playground and a small wheel skate park.
I recommend the Coast Hotel in Oliver. My room was exceptionally clean and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful. It was very quiet and I felt safe staying there. This is also a pet friendly hotel, though I did not bring my cat. In addition the Coast Hotel in Oliver offers; an Indoor pool and Spa, Exercise room, Complimentary breakfast, Free WiFi, and two computers guests can use for free.
The Coast Hotel in Oliver opened in early 2019 and they also have another hotel in Kamloops, B.C.
