Jørn Laursen (født 2. september 1943) er en tidligere dansk jockey, og stadig aktiv træner med hjemsted i Skive. Han blev i 1970’erne landskendt som kusk for den legendariske travhest Tarok. Han er den næstmest vindende derbyvinder i dansk travsport med i alt fire derbysejre med hestene Tarok (1976), Vixi Bird (1977), Duvil (1981) og Macon (1989).
Mindesmærket er en granit-skulptur, der viser Tarok med Jørn Laursen i sulkyen. Den er i fuld størrelse og er placeret på en lille bakke. Skulpturen kan ses ved Skive Travbane



Joern Laursen (born September 2, 1943) is a former Danish jockey, and still active coach based in Skive. In the 1970s, he became famous as the jockey of the legendary trotting horse Tarok. Tarok and Joern Laursen won a total of 111 Harness races out of 165 starts. He is the second most winning derby winner in Danish Harness racing with a total of four derby victories with the horses Tarok (1976), Vixi Bird (1977), Duvil (1981) and Macon (1989).
The memorial is a granite sculpture showing Tarok and Joern Laursen in the sulky. It is life size and is located on a small hill with crushed stone. It can be seen at Skive Racing Arena.
