Kimzey's Coffee is part of the Voltage Coffee Project, who describe themselves as "a cultural movement toward authentic relationships, where people are seen as people – not transactions. Let's collaborate to celebrate community, from producers to guests." They operate several independent locations in North Texas, all with their own vibe and unique character. Each location serves West Oak Coffee, roasted at the flagship location in Denton, TX.
Kimzey's Coffee occupies a "Hansel and Gretel" type of cottage, as beautiful inside as it is out, with a drive thru if you need it. The main seating area in front of the counter has a high ceiling to give a roomy feel, with a corridor-room leading to even more seating in the back, a bit quieter with a little more comfort.
They offer the espresso drinks that you'll find in a good coffee shop, including the uncommonly seen cortado, and while sweet syrups are just as common, they have some seasonal offerings such as honey lavender to spruce up your drink. Of course, their house blends are great for those who just want a good cup of coffee, hot or cold, and they also offer tea, hot chocolate, and even milkshakes with locally-produced ice cream from Beth Marie's. Try an espresso milkshake or a cold brew float on a hot day!
They also have a small selection of sweets and treats to pair off with your drink. Those in need of free wi-fi will find it, with the password available on a sign at the counter, and there are a good number of places to plug in your gadgets while you work and enjoy your beverage.
