Am Burgplatz in der Düsseldorfer Altstadt befindet sich der sogenannte Schlossturm. Der fünfgeschossige Turm bildete ursprünglich den nördlichen Abschluss des Düsseldorfer Schlosses, und ist inzwischen das einzige erhaltene Gebäude des Schlosses. Seit 1984 befindet sich in dem Turm das Schifffahrtsmuseum.

Auf der Spitze des achteckigen Zeltdachs befindet sich eine einzigartige Wetterfahne aus dem Jahre 1957. Sie ist aus Kupfer gefertigt, zeigt einen sogenannten Feuerbläser und ist etwa 1 x 1,5 Meter groß. Die Figur soll an den großen Brand von 1872 erinnern, der große Teile des Schlosses zerstört hat. Darunter befinden sich die statischen Richtungsangaben N, S, E, W. Entworfen wurde die Wetterfahne vom städtischen Hochbauamtsmitarbeiter Neuber und gefertigt vom Düsseldorfer Bildhauer Ferdi Walther.
The so-called Schlossturm (i.e. castle tower) is located on Burgplatz in Düsseldorf's old town. The five-story tower originally formed the northern end of the Düsseldorf castle, and is now the only remaining building of the castle. The tower has been home to the maritime museum since 1984.

On the top of the octagonal tent roof is a unique weather vane from 1957. It is made of copper, shows a so-called fire blower and is about 1 x 1.5 meters in size. The figure is said to commemorate the great fire of 1872 that destroyed large parts of the castle. Underneath are the static direction indicators N, S, E, W. The weather vane was designed by the community building authority employee Neuber and manufactured by the Düsseldorf sculptor Ferdi Walther.
