The Green Plaques Project, an initiative of the Berry and District Historical Society, was officially launched on Thursday, June 29 2017.

An official unveiling was held at the Berry Museum. Eleven historical buildings in Berry now have circular, bronze green plaques installed. Each plaque features a brief summary of the building’s history.

The plaque is worded:

The School of Arts

The School of Arts was opened in 1906. It was designed by architects Joseland & Vernon & financed by community fundraising.

The land for the building was donated by Sir John Hay, David Berry's cousin.
