St. Olav Cathedral is the Cathedral of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Oslo in Norway. The church was built in the 1850s, with the first Mass being celebrated in 1856. The church was not consecrated, however, until August 8, 1896 due to the country not having a Bishop. The church was elevated to the rank of a Cathedral in 1953 when the Diocese of Oslo was established. Pope St. John Paul II visited St. Olav's in 1989. Inside the Cathedral is a relic of St. Olav's arm.
