The Watery Well ("La Aguada" in Spanish) owes its name to La Pinta crew, who took its water supply for the course South to Palos from this well at A Ribeira promenade on March 11th, 1493. 9 barrels of water were hand-filled and, along with 9 barrels of wine, they were drunk during the trip.
The well is made of granite, and still has water. Although for security the cover is closed with a padlock. On one side it has a bronze plate that says "the well of the aguada supplied the Pinta". Tradition and everything around it shows that it was built in the 15th century

Se conoce el pozo de la Aguada con este nombre porque sirvió para abastecer de agua a la carabela Pinta antes de partir de Baiona a Palos el día 11 de marzo de 1493. Los tripulantes llenaron a mano, con el agua de este pozo ubicado en el paseo Ribeira, los toneles que sirvieron para consumo de la tripulación durante la travesía. Se sabe que la Pinta llevaba al menos nueve barriles de agua y otros tantos de vino.
El pozo está hecho de granito, y todavía tiene agua. Aunque por seguridad está cerrada la tapa con un candado.
En un lateral tiene una placa de bronce que dice "pozo de la aguada abastecía a la Pinta".
La tradición y todo lo que hay alrededor hace constar que se construyó en el siglo XV
