EN: The Lötschberg line was completed in 1913 and connects the canton of Bern with the Upper Valais. The route is still world famous among railway enthusiasts and is a popular travel destination. From 1907, a construction line was first built for the construction of the line, which brought construction workers, materials and machines to the construction sites of the large line and was dismantled after their opening in 1913. In 1960, the "Lötschberger Südrampe" hiking trail was set up, which runs along the route of the former construction railway in some stages and also through some of its tunnels.

This tunnel is one of three in a row located just west of the Bietschtal bridge north of Raron and are between 20 and 40 meters long. It can be reached on the hiking trail from Hohtenn in a little less than two hours.

Für die Errichtung der Linie wurde ab 1907 erst eine Baubahn erstellt, die Bauarbeiter, Material und Maschinen zu den Baustellen der grossen Linie brachte und nach deren Eröffnung 1913 wieder abgebaut wurde. 1960 wurde der Wanderweg "Lötschberger Südrampe" eingerichtet, der auf einigen Etappen auf der Trasse der ehemaligen Baubahn verläuft und auch durch einige ihrer Tunnel führt.

Dieser Tunnel ist einer von dreien in einer Reihe, die sich gleich westlich der Bietschtalbrücke nördlich von Raron befinden und jeweils zwischen 20 und 40 Meter lang sind. Er ist auf dem Wanderweg von Hohtenn her in etwas weniger als zwei Stunden zu erreichen.
