A granite obelisk contains the dedication to the soldiers of the Town of Ware on the shaft and bronze plaques with the names of Civil War soldiers on the front and the back.
On the shaft of the obelisk is the dedication in raised letters:

On the front is a bronze plaque with the names of those who served during the Civil War. It is inscribed:
